Lucky 27 Barbershop accepting Waldo fire donations

Just a quick note to let you know about one way you can help out with the Waldo Canyon fire (as well as other Colorado fires).  My good friends, Scott (former Avalanche tough guy, and current Castle Rock local business owner), Francesca and DJ are, as usual, jumping right in with their business and their charity to collect donated items for the victims and firefighters in Colorado.

Please stop by the Lucky 27 Barbershop at 518 Wilcox if you’d like to help out.  And if you have the time, stay awhile, hear some great stories and treat yourself to the BEST haircut or straight-edge razor shave of your life. Note: Don’t worry, Scott doesn’t actually do any of the cutting :)

Here is how you can help, from Francesca:

Lucky 27 Social Club is working to help Colorado. Our Barbershop is a participating CO Fire Fighters and Fire Victims wishlist drop off location. Please help us show our community’s heart and give what you can. Items will be distributed to the area of greatest need until the flames are extinguished completely, so you can bring stuff next time you visit…
We are taking new and gently used items for evacuated families such as clothing, linens, books & magazines, Earplugs, toiletries, flip flops and shower shoes, crayons, toys, and games. Use your imagination, we need items to help pass time in a shelter…

Also, this wish list includes items the brave folks fighting the fire run out of too quickly… firefighters need donations of the following items: (3000-5000 each of the following): Sleeping masks (for firefighters sleeping day shifts), disposable earplugs, individual and bulk sized saline bottles (for eyes and nose etc), tubes of nasal gel, cloth napkins (for handkerchiefs), pocket sized paper pads, pencils, and little sharpeners, cases of coconut water, BIOYTENE gum and mouth rinses, bags of cheap but long thick socks.

This is just for SOME of the firefighters, but these are items they do without if PUBLIC SUPPORT doesn’t provide them. Thank you for giving whatever you can, Money is not always the only answer…
